Where can I send  from /to using Sendwave?

Sendwave allows you to make fast, affordable money transfers from countries in North America and Europe (USA, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, and Ireland) to countries in Africa, Asia, The Americas and Lebanon. Using the Sendwave app, you can quickly send funds from Visa or MasterCard debit cards and PostePay cards in Italy and Correos cards in Spain. We send to mobile wallets and bank accounts in multiple counties, please see country pages for specific details. 


How much money can I send using Sendwave?

Every sender has maximum limits on how much they can send per day and per month. These are called sending limits. You can view your daily and monthly sending limits, as well as your usage, by going to the Menu and tapping on My Limits. If you are a sender in the US, UK or EU, you do not need to take any action to raise your sending limits. Your sending limits will be automatically raised as soon as you are eligible. If you are a sender in Canada, once you are eligible to request higher sending limits, you can make a request through your My Limits page. Our team will review your request and get back to you as soon as possible. Note: Due to Thailand’s domestic regulations, you can only send up to 50,000 THB at a time in one transfer. 

What are fees for Sendwave money transfer?

Sendwave charges no or low fees in all markets it serves, saving you tons of money each time you send! For countries where there is no fee, like Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Bangladesh, we just make a small percentage on the exchange rate that you see on the main page of the app. For countries where there is a fee, like Liberia, we aim to keep our rates low and ensure sending remains affordable. 

How does Sendwave work?

How can a recipient open Sendwave account?

To open a Wave account, they just need a Gambian phone number and can download the app if they have a smartphone. They can also visit an official Wave agent. 

Does my recipient need any documentation to collect funds?

No, funds are delivered straight into your recipient’s Wave mobile wallet. They can withdraw the money from any official Wave agent. They will need to bring their smartphone with the Wave app, or their Wave card to the agent location. If your recipient does not have a Wave account, they will receive an SMS with a code which they can present to any official Wave agent to receive the funds. Make sure you save your recipient on your Sendwave account under their real name, that matches their ID if they do not have a Wave account. 

Does Sendwave send a SMS to recipient?

No, Sendwave will not send the recipient a delivery SMS. Recipients will receive a message from their carrier once the transaction is successful and funds have been added to their mobile wallet (if they have subscribed to SMS alerts from their carrier) 

Where can recipient collects the fund?

The funds can be picked up at any Access or Zenith Bank branch. Your recipient can find the closest branch to them by checking Access bank branches here: https://www.accessbankplc.com/Contact-Us/Branch-ATM-Locator/Open-Branches.aspx and Zenith branches here: https://zenithbank.com/branches/ 

How long will it take for the funds to arrive?

The unique code voucher will be sent to your recipient within moments of you initiating the transfer. They will then need to visit an Access or Zenith bank branch Monday through Friday between 8 am and 4 pm WAT to collect the funds. The funds do need to be picked up within a 7 days a of the transfer being sent. 

How secure is sending via Sendwave USD cash pickup? 

Just like we did when sending to Naira accounts, security is a major priority for Sendwave. We’ve added two steps to help ensure the security of your transfer on top of our existing security. When sending via cash pickup, once you send you and your recipient will receive a unique code for the transaction. Your recipient will need to take that code to any Access bank branch and present it to the bank teller. Once the bank teller authenticates that code, your recipient will then receive a password via SMS they will submit to collect the funds. 

How secure is Sendwave?

Sendwave takes the security of your personal data extremely seriously. We encode all data as soon as it is entered in the app and send it over an encrypted 128-bit connection.
