Built on a former riding school and farm, Yorkshire Wildlife Park has come along way since it opened in April 2009. A dynamic centre for conservation and welfare, the park has over 400 animals and over 70 different species of animal.

Murton Park - Yorkshire Farming Museum
Welcome to Murton Park, home of the Yorkshire Museum of Farming, the Danelaw Centre for Living History and the Derwent Valley Light Railway. The park covers approximately 16 acres of mostly flat terrain, connected by a series of paths and trackways of varying surfaces.
The reception building houses our admissions desk and shop, toilets, coffee bar, Farmhouse Kitchen Cafe (open weekends and school holidays) function rooms and library. Access to the library (open by appointment) is via stairs only. The bulk of the museum collection is housed in two main gallery buildings. The Four Seasons building has stair and wheelchair lift access to the upper mezzanine housing the WLA exhibition and photographic gallery. The Livestock Gallery has ramp access and is on a single level.
There is a large picnic area and a number of picnic tables outside. The playground is located opposite the picnic spot and there are toy pedal tractors for children (under 8s). In bad weather, those bringing a picnic can eat indoors in the atrium space.
