Dr. A Selva Ganesa Moorthi is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Structural Engineering Laboratory, IIT Madras. He earned his PhD from the Structural Engineering Laboratory, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras. His PhD thesis received a Prime Minister Research Fellowship. He earned his B.E. in civil engineering from the Government College of Engineering - Bodinayakkanur. He obtained his M.E in Structural Engineering from the Alagappa Chettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology - Karaikudi. He did his schooling from the rural Government School Allinagaram, Sivagangai district Tamilnadu. He worked as a project officer at the Structural Engineering Laboratory, working on a consultancy project at IIT Madras. Formerly he worked as a Teaching Faculty at Pyramid IAS Academy - Karaikudi. He cleared GATE 2017, 2018 and 2019.

He is a mentor in Teach in 10 Programme for rural Government school students from Tamilnadu conducted by IIT Madras. He is a trainer in Teach to Learn STEM Workshop for rural Government school students from Tamilnadu conducted by IIT Madras. He is a hostel council member at IIT Madras and he organized many hostel events. He took a GATE Coaching class for the Civil Engineering students of Alagappa Chettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology. He got a Judge panel award in THIRAN 2O17 and 2018, a program sponsored by Alumni Association of Alagappa Chettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology. His current research focuses on the Design of Reinforced Concrete Prefabricated Structures and their Connections. He is an active reviewer in ACI for the past three years. He is having student membership in ACI, ASCE, Fib. His work in both experimental and Numerical modeling covering a broad range of areas encompassing Seismic analysis of Reinforced Concrete Structures.

Projects Completed (during B.E and M.E)
Investigation on the safety of the eccentrically loaded columns (PG -Thesis) - Experimental results for reinforced concrete columns subjected to eccentrically loaded column is collected and compared with the theoretical interaction diagrams given in SP 16. A mathematical model developed to predict the ultimate load capacity for normal and high strength concrete columns separately using regression analysis.
Seismic and retrofitting analysis of RC building using SAP (UG) - Sixteen storey framed reinforced concrete building is analysed in SAP using time history analysis. Columns of the building were retrofitted using steel jacketing and then analysed using time history analysis.
Design and Analysis of Airport Terminal Building (Design project) - Project report has detailed the complete analysis and design of airport terminal building of steel building with roof truss.
