A trained and experienced expert witness called to give testimony in a court of law as to proper and accepted practices in healthcare.
2011 – Present Medical Unit Leader (Administratively Determined by Prescott National Forest):
Manage, coordinate, and facilitate emergency and medical care for all-hazard incident management teams in the Western United States with an emphasis on wildland firefighting.
1989 – 2021 Academic Nurse Educator, Yavapai College (Faculty Emeritus 2022 to Present):
Professor for leadership and management nursing courses for second-year nursing students in the Associate of Applied Science Degree Program for both the Prescott and Verde Campuses. Previously taught acute care and intravenous therapy/phlebotomy courses. Clinical Nurse Educator for fourth-semester nursing students in preceptorship at Yavapai Regional Medical Center West and East Campuses.
1984 – 2019 Staff Nurse, Yavapai Regional Medical Center:
Provide acute care to cardiac, surgical, medical, trauma, and neurological patients in the post-operative areas. Experience in the intensive care and medical-surgical units as well as the emergency department.

Yavapai College 2019 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award Recipient – Recognized for outstanding commitment and contribution to students and colleagues. NISOD is the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development, a membership organization committed to promoting and celebrating excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership at community and technical colleges.
Yavapai College 2018 Pathways Trailblazer Award – As a member of the Pathways Committee, developed common courses for students pursuing healthcare careers. The development of the Pathways model at YC has boosted on-time graduation rates and student retention. Now a model for other colleges across the country and being presented at national conferences.
