OVERVIEW
Timer Shot does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. It is a self-timer camera: it takes a delayed photo, a timed series of photos, or a timed video that you start. Each shot is kept as a copy in the app's own storage for review and, when you allow it, added to your phone's photo library. The app also uses Google services and an advertising mediation partner for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
CAMERA
The app asks for camera permission on the Timer tab when you tap the button to allow the camera. The camera takes only the photos and videos you start with the timer. Each photo or video is moved into the app's own storage on your device and is not uploaded. Photos keep the standard camera information the camera writes into the file (such as the time and camera settings); the app has no location permission and does not add location to your photos. If you decline, the app cannot take photos, and you can allow the camera later in your device settings.
MICROPHONE
Recording sound is off by default. The app asks for microphone permission only when you start a video with the "Record sound" option turned on. Sound is recorded only into that video, which is stored and saved like any other video. If you decline, "Record sound" is turned off and videos are recorded without sound.
PHOTO LIBRARY
The app asks for permission to add to your photo library when you start your first timer, or when you tap the allow button on the Settings tab. With permission, each photo and video is added to your photo library right after it is taken (for example, a 10-shot series adds 10 photos). The app only adds files; it does not browse, read, change, or delete your existing photos. If you decline, shots stay only in the app, and you can save them to your photo library later from the Sessions tab after allowing access.
MOTION SENSOR
When the level guide is on (the default), the app reads the accelerometer while the Timer tab is visible to show whether the phone is level. These readings are used on your device only and are not stored or uploaded.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
- App copies of your photos and videos, in the app's own storage.
- A session list: up to 300 sessions, each with its start and end time, the timer settings used (mode, delay, interval, number of shots, burst, video length), and for each shot its file location, size, time taken, whether it was saved to your photo library, and whether you starred it. When the limit is reached, the oldest empty sessions are removed first; sessions that still contain shots are not removed automatically.
- Your settings: timer plan, beeps, flash blink, shutter sound, front-camera mirroring, grid, level guide, record sound, and front or back camera.
- Recovery copies of the session list: up to 3 daily snapshots, and a backup copy if the stored list is ever found damaged.
The app may also store basic operating information such as an app-use count, review-prompt progress, and cached advertising or More Apps configuration.
The developer does not run a server that receives your photos or videos. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list (including app icons loaded from web addresses) from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not upload your photos, videos, or session list. When you share a photo or video, it goes only where you choose to send it through your device's share sheet.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches and sessions (with a running launch count), screen views, menu and review-prompt interactions, and ad revenue events, along with app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. Feature events are run_start (timer mode), run_done (numbers of photos, videos, skipped, failed, and kept-in-app-only shots, and whether you stopped the run), and app_copies_deleted (number of app copies deleted). On iOS, the tracking-permission answer is also recorded. These events do not include photos, videos, or their contents.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows banner, interstitial, and app-open ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may also request ads from the InMobi mediation network. Google and InMobi may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location even though the app has no location permission.
Banner ads are not shown on the Timer tab or while a timer is running. An interstitial ad may appear only after a finished timer run that took at least one shot, when you close its result card, and it is cancelled if you touch the screen first. App-open ads may appear at launch and when you return to the app, but not while a timer is running, not for 10 minutes after a run ends, and not when you come back from a permission prompt or the share sheet.
PERMISSIONS AND ADVERTISING CHOICES
The feature permissions the app requests are the camera, the microphone (only for videos with sound), and adding to your photo library, as described above. It does not request location, contacts, Bluetooth, health data, or notifications, and it does not request access to read your photo library.
Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), Google's consent message (UMP) is shown first, and personalized advertising stays off unless your choice allows it. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown only after that step and only when personalized advertising is allowed. If tracking is not allowed, the IDFA is not available to the app or its ad partners. If the consent message cannot be loaded, the app does not request ads until it is restarted and does not ask for tracking permission. The app works whatever you choose.
You can change iOS tracking permission and the camera, microphone, and photo permissions in Settings, and reset or delete the Android advertising ID in your device settings. Where Google requires it, the app menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice. The menu also has a Privacy Policy page with a short summary; this full policy is the complete version.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
On the Sessions tab you can delete a single shot from the viewer, remove all shots in a session, or keep only starred shots and remove the others. Deleting in the app removes only the app's copy; photos and videos already added to your photo library stay there, and you can delete them in your Photos or Gallery app. Sessions left without shots are removed from the list. You can also clear the app's data on Android or delete the app. Local data, including the app's copies of your photos and videos, may be included in an Apple, Google, or device backup depending on your backup settings; uninstalling normally removes the active copy but may not remove an older backup.
Because we do not receive your photos or videos, we cannot delete them for you; the controls above remove them from the app. For questions about data processed by Google or InMobi, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
Data processed by third parties is retained according to their service settings and policies. We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy.

SECURITY
Your photos, videos, and saved data are kept in the app's private storage on your device, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, so protect your device with a passcode. Copies added to your photo library are managed by your device's photo library and are visible to apps you allow to read it. Apart from the limited analytics events described above, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services and the ad mediation partner uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what the app collects to what is described in this policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please respect other people's privacy and local laws when you take photos or videos of others, and keep your phone in a safe, stable position while the timer runs. Shots can be missed or skipped if the camera is busy, storage is full, or the app is interrupted; check your results before relying on them.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
