Random observations, music reviews, sports commentary, fresh memes, and bad poetry
Twice daily on a good day.
I'm someone who listens to a lot of playlists, so I'm trying to check out more LPs these days. Currently I've been bumping Oneohtrix Point Never's Age Of, which is honestly a pretty chill effort by one of experimental music's godfathers. Other artists I've been getting in to:
- Desired. This producer from Crystal Tokyo (aka Yekaterinburg, Russia) is primarily known for his future funk work. Dive deeper into his catalogue, which contains many Sailor Moon references, and you'll find some pleasing lo-fi hip hop tracks. Perfect for parties and study sessions alike.
- Turnstile. Ask any hardcore kid. Diplo appears on their latest album, which is intriguing.
- Up High Collective. UHC is a Belgian group who I discovered back last year. Ironically, I completely overlooked their latest album, Solitude. Up High Collective are a hard band to describe, but all of their tracks are obviously influenced by trap with some techno in the mix. Satisfying left-field vibes.
