3D CAD Modeling : 2D Basic Shapes

Sketching

In onshape, we used a technique called revolving to create the 3D shapes that involve cylindrical shapes. We first have to make a sketch with half the shape outlined

Revolving

Next, we use the revolve tool and select the centre point in which the shape revolves around. This creates a 3D shape automatically, that traces the sketch made of the shape with the cylindrical body.

Final result

In the end, if we use the techniques fit for each shape, we can create a 3D version of the 2D basic shapes rendered on paper.
