My name is Scott Sehlin.  I have been an audio enthusiast as long as I can remember and active in the DIY speaker building community for about 20 years.  Welcome to my audio pages.  Here you will find a number of DIY speaker project plans free for non-commercial use.    The projects posted here have been demonstrated at DIY events.  Most have extensive measurements to help guide prospective builders.  I have recently started testing amplifiers.  As a long time audio enthusiast who has used a very wide range of amplification and source gear, I have always wanted to have the capability to collect objective data on that equipment to a similar extent that I have with speakers.

My DIY speaker projects include over a dozen projects including Mini Speakers, shelf or stand mountable speakers, and floorstanding speakers.  Projects on this page have been designed over the last 15 years or so, and most can still be built with currently available parts.  Over time, my skills and tools for design and measurement have improved, so you will see increasingly detailed measurements in recent projects.  This does require more effort up front, but once completed, typically reduces the amount of tweaking needed to produce a good result.

Putting together a quality, high value sound system extends beyond speakers.  Over the years, I have tried, used, and advised others on various receivers and amplifiers.  I've always thought it would be important to have a good way to objectively compare them.  Inspired by my journey toward better measurements and better use of measurements in the speaker design process, the Audio Science Review website and Quantasylum, I have taken the step to add the capability to measure other audio components - starting with Amplifiers and receivers.
