"Angel's Trumpet/Dance with me"

エンジェルストランペット(Angel's Trumpet)は、春から秋にかけて可憐な花を咲かせます。別名「デビルズ・ブレス」。その花の芳香に誘われて手を伸ばし、蜜を啜ってはなりません。花を摘んでもいけません。採集すれば執着します。危険な調べで踊り続け離れられない、そんな花です。

Angel's Trumpet blooms with pretty flowers from spring to fall. Also known as "Devil's Breath". Don't be tempted by the fragrance of the flower to reach out and sip the nectar. Don't even pick the flowers.  

If you collect it, it will become attached to the flower and dance to a dangerous tune forever.

この作品は、伝統的な水性木版画技法を用いた両面摺りの作品で、裏と表の２作品になっています。和紙の両面から摺りを施した浮世絵版画は作例が少なく、私の知る限りでは、喜多川歌麿の錦絵に見られるのみです。一枚の和紙の裏表でそれぞれの版が作用しつつ異なる絵として表すまで試行錯誤を繰り返しなんとか初作が仕上がりました。

This work is a double-sided print using traditional water-based woodblock printing techniques, and has two parts: the back and the front. There are few examples of ukiyo-e prints printed on both sides of washi paper, and as far as I know, they are only seen in the nishiki-e prints of Utamaro Kitagawa. Through trial and error, I managed to complete my first work until each plate worked on the front and back sides of a piece of washi paper to create a different picture.
