『水端』

ある物質と相反する物質の化学反応について思うことがあり,それらを題材にしようと試みているところでした。今回は主に鉱物と水の出合いや、霧や雲の関わる事象についてと”収集する”ということを絡ませてイメージしてみました。”収集”で想起したのは、宮澤賢治記念館で見た大きなアメジストの原石やラピスラズリ。その時の根源性を感じた感覚を表現したいと思いました。
　タイトルの水端（みずはな）は　物事の最初、はじまり、という意味です。太古の昔から存在する鉱石と水の出合いにより、新しく始まる予感を描きました。

I have been thinking about chemical reactions between certain substances and contradictory substances, and I am trying to use them as a subject. This time, I mainly imagined the encounter between minerals and water, phenomena involving fog and clouds, and the concept of "collecting". "Collecting" reminded me of the large amethyst rough and lapis lazuli that I saw at the Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Museum. I wanted to express the sense of origin I felt at that time. The title Mizuhana means the beginning or beginning of things.  

The encounter between ore and water, which has existed since time immemorial, depicts a premonition of a new beginning.

I mainly produce using copperplate engravings. The themes change depending on current events and changes in the world. Whenever I create a work, I always face the board of copper, thinking about the lines, forms, and relationships between the things I want to depict.The process of turning copper into a copperplate print is a magic that changes time and space through a chemical change called a corrosive liquid. I always create with a spirit of experimentation.
