"A brand new day"

グッとくる言葉を集めている。  

自分を励ましてくれたり、気づきを与えてくれたり、許してくれるような、基本的にポジティブな言葉。  

それらに出会ったとき、ノートや手帳に書き留めておくのがいつからか習慣になっている。  

そこから今回選んだのは「a brand new day」。  

初めて印象に残ったのはラジオから聞こえたものだったか。  

「真新しい日」という意味だそう。  

悩んだり、落ち込んだり、なんだかうまくいかないことがあった日も、明けない夜はない。  

必ず朝はやってくる。  

「真新しい」という言葉に、無限の可能性を感じて。

I collect impressive words that encourage me, make me aware, or forgive me.  

When I come across such words, I often write them down in my notebook.  

From there, I chose "a brand new day."  

Even when I'm worried, depressed, or something doesn't go well, there's never a night that doesn't end.  

Morning always comes.  

The word "brand new" gives me a sense of endless possibilities.

4版8色で、鳥の子和紙にガッシュで刷っています。砂浜の版に雲母刷りを施しているためキラキラしています。  

水性木版は浮世絵と同じ作り方です。彫るときに薄く彫ってぼかす「彫りぼかし」と、刷るときに絵の具と水を刷毛でぼかして刷りとる「刷りぼかし」。それらを駆使して朝焼けのグラデーションを表現しました。

This work printed in gouache on Torinoko washi paper in 4 editions and 8 colors. The part of sand is printed with mica, making it sparkle.  

Wood cut prints with water color are made in the same way as ukiyo-e. "Horibokashi" involves carving thinly and blurring the color, and "Suribokashi" involves blurring the paint and water with a brush when printing.   

I made full use of them to express the gradation of the sunrise.
