Effective Date: December 24, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Secure Authenticator: 2FA (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
The App may allow you to add 2FA accounts (for example by scanning a QR code or entering a secret key).
By default, these authenticator entries are stored locally on your device.
1.2 Automatically collected information
Depending on your configuration and device settings, we may collect limited technical data, such as:
Device and app information (app version, device model, OS version)
Basic diagnostics (crash logs, performance data)
We do not intentionally collect information that directly identifies you (such as your name, email address, or phone number) unless you explicitly provide it (for example, if you contact support).
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide and operate the App’s core functionality (generating authentication codes)
Improve stability and performance (bug fixes, crash analysis)
Respond to support requests
3. How Your Authenticator Data Is Handled
Authenticator data (such as account labels and 2FA secrets) is sensitive. We treat it accordingly:
Stored on-device and used only to generate codes
Not sold or shared for advertising purposes
Access to the App may be protected by device security features (PIN/biometrics), if you enable them
If the App provides backup/restore or sync features, you control whether to use them. When enabled, data may be exported or transferred as part of that feature.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in these cases:
Service providers (e.g., crash reporting) who process data on our behalf under contractual obligations
Legal requirements if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
Business transfers (e.g., merger/acquisition), with appropriate safeguards
5. Data Retention
Authenticator entries are retained on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
Technical logs (e.g., crash reports), if enabled, may be retained for a limited period necessary for diagnostics.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We recommend enabling device passcode/biometric protection and keeping your operating system up to date.
7. Your Choices
You can:
Delete authenticator entries at any time in the App
Disable analytics/crash reporting (if the App provides such a setting)
Uninstall the App to remove locally stored data
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International Transfers
If we use third-party processors, data may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App or on the page where this policy is published and update the “Effective Date.”
