Effective Date: March 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SecureVault ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. Your privacy is our top priority, especially as a password management utility.
SecureVault is designed to work as a local-first utility. We do not operate any central servers that store your passwords.
All usernames, passwords, and notes you store in the app are encrypted locally on your device using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. We never have access to your unencrypted data.
If you enable the Cloud Sync feature, the app will request access to your Google Drive account.
Scope: The app only uses the drive.appdata scope, which means it can only seAe and manage files that it creates itself. It cannot access your other Google Drive files.
Purpose: Encrypted backup files are stored in your private Google Drive "App Data" folder to allow you to restore your vault on other devices.
If you use Fingerprint or Face Unlock, the authentication is handled entirely by the Android System. The app does not collect, store, or transmit your biometric templates.
Local Storage: Your data is stored in a secure local database, protected by the Android Keystore system.
No Third-Party Tracking: We do not use any analytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party trackers.
The app uses the following third-party services which may collect information used to identify you:
Google Play Services (for app distribution and updates)
Google API Services: User Data Policy (for Google Drive sync functionality)
Our app does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
Users have full control over their data:
Local Data: You can delete all your stored credentials by using the "Delete Account/App Data" button in the App Settings or by clearing the app data in your device's Android settings.
Backup Data: You can delete your Google Drive backups by disconnecting your account from the app or by navigating to your Google Drive Settings (Manage Apps) and selecting "Delete hidden app data" for SecureVault.
