Welcome to **VaultFace** ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our mobile application.
**The short version:** **We do not collect, store, or share your personal data.** VaultFace is an offline-first, on-device secure vault. Your data stays on your device, encrypted and under your control.
## 2. Information Collection and Use
### 2.1. Local Storage Only
All notes, photos, videos, and voice recordings you create or import into VaultFace are stored **locally** on your device's internal storage. We do not have servers, and we cannot access your data.
### 2.2. Permissions We Request
To function correctly, VaultFace requests the following permissions. These are used *only* for functionality and never for data collection:
* **Photo Library Access:**
* *Read:* To allow you to import photos/videos into the vault.
* *Write:* To allow you to export your encrypted media back to your device's gallery if you choose.
* **Camera:** To allow you to take private photos and videos directly inside the app.
* **Microphone:** To allow you to record secure voice memos.
* **Face ID / Biometrics:** To securely unlock the app. This is handled entirely by Apple's Secure Enclave; we never see your biometric data.
* **Location:** Used **strictly** for the "Intruder Selfie" feature. If enabled, when an incorrect PIN is entered, the app records the location of the attempt locally on your device to help you identify unauthorized access. This location data is **never** transmitted to us.
## 3. Data Security
We use industry-standard **AES-256 encryption** to protect your files.
* Your Master Key is generated on your device and stored in the secure hardware (formatted storage).
* We (the developers) do not have your encryption key. **If you lose your PIN and cannot authenticate via Face ID, we cannot recover your data.**
## 4. Third-Party Services
We do not integrate with third-party analytics or advertising networks that track you across apps.
* **Apple:** We rely on Apple's operating system services for Biometrics (Face ID/Touch ID) and standard OS functionality.
## 5. Children’s Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
