Who We Are
We are a 501(c)(3) volunteer-led program that collect donations, wrap and delivers them late Christmas to families in Ypsilanti, long after the little ones are asleep. We want them to wake up to Christmas in their homes and believe that EVERYONE IS DESERVING OF THE MAGIC!
The Secret Santa Society of Ypsilanti was created in 2018 after a 7 year old boy said to one of the volunteers, "Santa isn't coming this year." With only days to spare, volunteers put together donations for a handful of families and delivered them late on December 24th.
In 2019 a whole team of wonderful people spent hours shopping, wrapping and delivering a full Christmas, with breakfast and dinner! In the past four years, The Secret Santa Society of Ypsilanti has touched the lives of over 300 families and 1200 neighbors, creating memorable and heartwarming experiences during the holiday season. The impact extends beyond the material gifts, fostering a sense of community and compassion.
As a non-profit organization, The Secret Santa Society of Ypsilanti relies exclusively on the generosity of the community to fulfill our mission. Donations of gifts, funds, and volunteer efforts are the lifeblood of our organization, allowing us to continue making a positive impact on the lives of Ypsilanti residents.

Referrals
Referrals come directly from school staff, Community Liaisons, and community partners, who are in regular contact with families that are struggling to pay their monthly bills let alone afford Christmas gifts and other necessary items.
We try to make our family bundles fun and functional: delivered in large plastic tubs, adding in necessary clothing, new shoes, winter wear, bedding and laundry baskets filled with cleaning supplies - which is what a number of parents requested as their gifts last year. And also toys, lots of toys! We also include breakfast and dinner.
