Dr. Ren is currently an assistant professor in dermatology and epidemiology. His research focuses on dermato-epidemiology and genetic epidemiology, exploring gene regulation networks and gene-gene interactions in various types of genetic disorders. Dr. Ren's lab is developing algorithms to integrate patients' electronic health records with various data types, including climate, proteomics, RNA-seq, single-cell, and epigenetic data. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as Nature, PNAS, and JCI. The ultimate goal of Dr. Ren's lab is to enhance personalized and precision medicine by advancing our understanding of pathogenesis through computational approaches. Dr. Ren obtained his Ph.D. in biomedical informatics from Northwestern University and holds two master's degrees, one in clinical investigation and another in statistics. He is also the director of the Bioinformatics and Statistics program at the Skin Biology and Diseases Resource-based Center
