I was raised in the Piedmont town of Inman, South Carolina. I graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1997.
I have casually been doing Graphic Design since the mid-90s, but it became my professional career path less than a decade ago.
In 2001, I joined the United States Air Force. I was a Dedicated Flying Crew Chief on the KC-135R Stratotanker. As a Staff Sergeant in charge of various numbers of troops, I received many awards and decorations. Some of which include: Air Force Good Conduct Medal, NCO Professional Education Ribbon, and 2005 6AMXS Support Airmen of the Year award. This was a very memorable chapter of my life. I saw the world and met some life long friends.
After my enlistment, which ended in an Honorable (that means good) Discharge, I used the GI Bill to enroll in PTEC's Commercial Art Program. This was one of the best decisions of my life. I was constantly amazed by the complete education Milton Watts had to offer his students. I competed in the SkillsUSA Promotional Poster contest, and received First Place in Regional and State. My team went on to the National competition, where we received Third Place! I was PTEC Student of the Month for January 2010. I attended the Student Council meetings throughout my term. As a student, I was professionally trained in Fine Arts, History and Humanities, along with a technical focus on Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. While in school, I worked part time at a sign shop designing, plotting, laying out and manufacturing vinyl products.
In April 2010, I graduated from the PTEC Commercial Art program with a 4.0 GPA. My in-depth education combined with the leadership training, motivation and discipline acquired from the military is what gives me the motivation to rise above.
I currently work full time as the Graphic Designer at a graphics firm, creating and manufacturing promotional materials and signage for businesses on the local and national level. I live in Clearwater, Florida with my wife, and our dog and cat. We attend and volunteer regularly at our church, and are very active in the local music community.
