Modern Tools for Mathematical Modeling of Ecosystems
August 19-28, 2020 Postponed to 23 August - 3 September 2021
Caraga State University
Butuan City, Philippines
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
In this school, we intend to introduce modern mathematical modeling tools which are useful to solve and analyze ecological and environmental challenges. Our aim is to prepare students and staff members for concrete problems arising in mathematical modeling in ecosystems, more particularly environmental and ecological issues that can be applied in the context of South-East Asia. We will present theoretical and numerical lectures about partial differential equations and their calibration. Practical sessions of free scientific computing software will be also provided.
This school also prepares for the CIMPA school to be held in August 2022 (CIMPA school CSU 2022)
Due to the pandemic, lectures will be live but online via zoom. Limited number of Philippine participants will be allowed to come on site.

SPONSORS
The South East Asian Mathematical Society initiates the SEAMS School of Mathematics as a series of intensive 10-day workshop. The purpose of this school is to provide opportunity for undergraduate as well as master students to have an advanced learning experience in mathematics, and to introduce a research-based learning.
The Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA), founded in France in 1978, is a nonprofit organisation that promotes research in Mathematics in developing countries. Located in Nice, it is a UNESCO Category 2 centre and is part of the Laboratoire d'Excellence CARMIN (Centres d'Accueil et de Rencontres Mathématiques Internationales). It benefits from the financial support of France, Germany, Norway, Spain and Switzerland.
