Prof. Brahim BENHAMOU holds a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering(thermo-fluid) from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. He is currently a full professor at the department of physics of the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia at Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech, Morocco. He is the responsible of the “Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency Laboratory” (EnR2E) at the National Center for Studies and Research on Water and Energy (CNEREE) affiliated to Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech. He was a Faculty advisor for InterHouse team that won the Solar Decathlon Africa SDA2019 held in Benguerir, Morocco in Sep. 2019.
His research is focused on Heat and Mass Transfer, Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Solar Thermal Energy applications (Desalination & CSP plants).
He co-authored 37 peer-reviewed journal papers and more than 120 conference papers. He is the coordinator of or has participated in several national and international funded projects on Solar Thermal Energy applications and Energy Efficiency in Buildings. One of these funded project is entitled “Passive Systems for Air Refreshment in Buildings in Marrakech climate zone”.
