Information for Presenters
Thank you for stepping forward to present at the upcoming meeting. The success of the group depends on volunteers’ willingness to share their expertise and knowledge with the group so we are grateful to you!
Following are suggested guidelines for your presentation.
• We have a projector but please bring your own laptop.
• We keep an archive of presentations on the group’s private website, so please forward your powerpoint after the meeting to John H at xzombywoofx@yahoo.com for uploading.
• Presentations should generally be 30—45 minutes in length, with about 10 minutes more for Q&A. If you anticipate needing more time, or less time, please let us know in advance so that we can plan accordingly and not impact the time for other presenters.
• Think about how you would like to handle questions and announce at the start of your talk whether you will take questions during your talk. If you do so, it’s recommended that you keep them brief so as to keep to your topic and to the time frame.
• For the Q&A session, try to ensure that you answer questions from a variety of members. Lengthy questions or discussions should be deferred to individual discussions during the break time.
• You may also elect to have the meeting coordinator (usually either John H or Steve P) coordinate the Q&A session.
Again, thank you for being willing to present!
