Second Annual Performance in Education SIG in Sapporo Conference

THEME "Getting Creative: Avenues to Successful Practices in EFL"
This year the PIE SIG will join with JALT Hokkaido Chapter, Brain SIG, and Critical Thinking SIG. Our conference will be embedded in the Hokkaido Chapter's 2020 JALT Hokkaido Winter Language Teaching Conference at Hokusei Gakuin University in Sapporo, where we will have a room in which we can create our own conference. The conference will occur just before the famous Sapporo Snow Festival, but you will be able to see the preparations for the festival and enjoy Snow Festival activities at the Tsudome site. Call for Papers
We welcome abstract submissions regarding Performance in Education (speech, drama, debate, readers theatre, etc.) from teachers and researchers keen to share how creativity is re-shaping their teaching practice in any learning environment. Submissions can be for: 50 minute/30 minute oral presentations (which includes 10 minutes for question and answer time), or poster presentations. Student Showcase exhibitions, presentations, performances, and poster sessions will also be welcomed.
Presentation abstracts will be accepted until 5 pm on December 8th, 2019.
Acceptance notification will be announced by midnight, December 9th, 2019.

Schedule
This year the conference will again be a two-day event. The event will begin with registration starting Saturday, February 1st at 9:30am. There will be a full line-up of presentations, student showcase, a symposium with leaders in education, and publisher displays on both Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, the 2nd from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at Hokusei Gakuen University in Sapporo.

Networking Event
There will be a networking event on Saturday evening. It will be at Asahi Beer Garden Lointei in Sapporo. It is an All-You-Can-Eat buffet style with a selection of seafood, meat, vegetables, salad, fruit, and desserts. Make reservations HERE.
