In this study, we explore the viability of assessing cognitive-mental abilities of individuals using EEG and other physiological biomarkers as feedback from wearable sensors. Are you curious to understand how you cope with mental tasks? How physical activity impacts your attention? Do you want an opportunity to participate in research projects at SDAR lab and be part of data set collection for live projects? We invite you to volunteer and participate and be a part of this novel study. Read the consent form (to be signed on the day of the test) and fill the Google form below to register for the test.
To create a novel sensor-based assessment for i) stress and ii) attention in individuals.
Irrespective of if you think you are easily or not easily stressed, here is a interesting opportunity to see how your body responds to mental activities. Assessment is done through clinically assessed methods under supervision of clinical psychologists. You can also see what benefits are there of physical activity on your attention. All participants will be considered for project participation in the SDAR lab. Limited positions!!!
Stress study: You will solve math problems on the computer display and you will do your best to solve problems as many as possible. There will be an assessment of phsyiological biomarkers using wearable sensor devices.
Attention study: You will perform a physical activity such as treadmill or a walk in campus wearing the Neuroelectric headset and then take a mental task / play a video game to see what is the impact of the activity on your attention. Later part of the study could also involve having a hearty meal to induce sleep and then measure attention state.
Participation will take approximately 60-80 minutes each to complete i) Stress study ii) Attention study
There are no anticipated risks associated with participating in this study, as consulted with clinical neurologist from reputed government institute in Delhi.
Full safety measures for sanitization of the devices and social distancing will be kept.
Participation based on your convenient day and slot.
Your participation in this study will remain confidential, and your identity will not be stored with your data. Your responses will be assigned a code number, and the list connecting your name with this number will be kept in a locked room and will be destroyed once all the data have been collected and analyzed.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time without penalty. You may withdraw by informing the researcher that you no longer wish to participate (no questions will be asked).
