ScriptRec ("the app") is a teleprompter and video recording app for Android. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: ScriptRec does not collect, store on a server, or share your personal data. Everything stays on your device.
It does not collect personal information.
It does not require an account or sign-in.
It does not contain ads.
It does not use analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting services.
It does not upload your scripts or videos anywhere.
It does not request permission to access the internet.
Camera. The app uses your camera to record the videos you choose to make.
Microphone. The app uses your microphone to record your voice with those videos.
Both permissions are used only while you are recording, and only on your device. You can turn either permission off at any time in your phone's Settings. Without them the app cannot record.
Your scripts. The scripts you write or paste are saved in the app's private storage on your phone so they are available the next time you open the app.
Your videos. When you tap Save, your video is saved to the Movies/ScriptRec folder on your phone, where you and other apps you allow can see it. A video you have not saved yet is kept temporarily in the app's private storage and is deleted when you discard it or leave without saving.
App settings. Your preferences, such as text size, scroll speed and countdown, are stored on your device.
The app never shares anything by itself. If you tap Share on a video, Android's standard share sheet opens and you choose which app receives the video. What happens to the video after that is governed by the privacy policy of the app you chose.
Android may include the app's data, such as your scripts and settings, in your device's backup to your own Google account if you have device backup turned on. That backup is controlled by your Google account and device settings, not by ScriptRec. Your videos are stored in your phone's normal media storage and follow your usual backup and photo-sync settings.
Because nothing is sent to us, there is nothing for us to delete. To remove your data from your device:
Delete scripts and videos inside the app, or delete videos in your Gallery or Files app.
Uninstall the app to remove all scripts and settings stored by the app.
Videos saved in Movies/ScriptRec remain until you delete them yourself.
ScriptRec is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
If the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date will change. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
