Effective Date: March 1, 2026
Welcome to KidsLock ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"). We value your privacy and the protection of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we process information related to you and how you can manage that information.
Please read and understand this Privacy Policy before using the App.
We follow the principle of data minimization. Based on the current features, we primarily process the following information:
Feature configuration data (processed locally) Settings you configure in the App, such as:
Selected apps/categories for restrictions;
Time-based rules (for example, weekdays and time windows);
Restriction modes and toggles (such as app install, app deletion, in-app purchases, and browser access);
Local preferences such as onboarding and tutorial status.
This information is used to provide the App's core functionality (restriction and rule management) and is stored locally on your device by default.
Local security data (processed locally) If you enable the passcode lock feature, the App stores a passcode hash and related lock settings (such as relock delay) locally for unlock verification. We do not store your passcode in plain text.
Information you voluntarily provide When you contact us through email feedback, you may voluntarily provide your email address, message content, and attachments. This information is used only to handle your inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and improve the product.
To provide core functionality, the App may use the following system capabilities:
Screen Time / parental control capabilities (FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, ManagedSettings) Used to enforce and manage app usage restrictions based on your configuration. These capabilities are governed by Apple's system authorization flow, and you can manage or revoke permission in system settings.
Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID, if supported) Used for faster local unlock. Biometric data is handled by the device's secure system modules. The App does not collect or store your raw biometric data.
Network access The App may use network access in these scenarios:
Opening a privacy policy page link you choose to visit;
Launching email functionality for feedback.
Other than user-initiated actions above, we do not use network access to upload advertising or analytics data.
Storage location Your primary configuration and security settings are stored locally on your device (including the app sandbox and system-permitted local shared container scope).
Retention period We retain information only for as long as needed to provide functionality. When you delete configurations, disable related features, or uninstall the App, corresponding local data is removed or no longer usable according to system behavior.
Sharing We do not sell your personal information to third parties. In the current version, we do not share data with third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Transfer As a rule, we do not transfer your personal information. If a transfer becomes necessary due to merger, reorganization, or similar events in the future, we will provide notice as required and require the recipient to continue protecting your information.
Public disclosure We do not publicly disclose your personal information unless required by applicable law or with your explicit authorization.
You can manage your information and permissions in the following ways:
Configuration management You can modify or delete group rules, restriction settings, and local security settings within the App.
Permission withdrawal You can revoke relevant permissions in device system settings (for example, Screen Time/Family Controls authorization or biometric authorization). After revocation, related features may no longer function.
Contact us If you need support, want to provide feedback, or request assistance, contact us at: hopedevfeedback@outlook.com
We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
The App may be used in family scenarios. If minors use the App, we recommend use under parental or guardian guidance. If we become aware of improper handling of minors' information during communication, we will verify and take necessary action promptly.
We take security measures appropriate to current technical standards, including reliance on device-level security mechanisms, local data isolation, and data minimization practices. However, no technical measure can guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy based on product changes or legal requirements. The updated version will be published on the website or in-app entry point and will take effect as of the stated effective date.
