Screen Sage utilizes Apple’s Screen Time API (Family Controls) to help you block distracting apps during focus sessions. We prioritize your privacy by design:
Opaque Tokens: When you select apps to block, iOS generates opaque tokens. Screen Sage never knows, records, or transmits the actual names or identities of the apps you choose to block.
On-Device Processing: The enforcement of app blocking happens entirely on your local device.
No Data Sharing: We do not collect, share, or sell any data related to your app usage, screen time habits, or installed applications to any third parties for advertising or any other purpose.
To provide and sync your Focus DNA and Earned Time, we collect the following minimal data:
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address to authenticate you securely.
Focus Analytics: We store metadata about your focus sessions, including session duration, completion status, timestamps, and shield overrides (how many times you broke a focus session).
Earned Time Balance: We store the number of "Earned Minutes" you have accumulated and spent to keep your balance synced across your devices.
We use the collected data strictly to operate the app and provide value to you:
To authenticate your account and keep your data synced.
To calculate your Focus DNA, streaks, and insights.
To manage your Earned Time balance.
To provide customer support and improve the app’s stability.
We use trusted third-party infrastructure to operate Screen Sage:
Firebase (Google): Used for secure user authentication (email/name) and database storage to save your session data and analytics.
RevenueCat: Used to securely process and manage premium subscriptions (Apple handles the actual payment processing; we never see your credit card data).
Your data is stored securely on Firebase servers. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
You own your data. You can request to view, update, or permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. To request data deletion, you can use the "Delete Account" option within the app settings or contact us directly at the email provided below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
