ScreeNo Studio ("the extension," "we," "us") is a screen recording browser extension. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and—most importantly—what we do not do with it.

1. Summary

ScreeNo Studio records screen, camera, and audio entirely on your own device. We do not operate any server, and the extension never uploads, transmits, or shares your recordings, camera feed, microphone audio, or any personal data with us or any third party.

Everything happens locally in your browser and is saved directly to your computer via Chrome's normal Save As download dialog.

2. What the Extension Accesses and Why

• Screen/tab/window video (via Chrome's screen-sharing picker) — Only when you click Start Recording and select a source. It is used solely to produce the video file you requested.
  
  

• Camera (optional) — Only if you enable the camera overlay. It is used to composite a picture-in-picture webcam feed into your recording and to show you a live preview while recording. The camera stream stops when recording ends or the overlay is turned off.
  
  

• Microphone (optional) — Only if you enable microphone audio. It is used to mix your voice into the recording's audio track.
  
  

• Downloads permission — Used only to save the finished recording to your chosen folder via Chrome's native download dialog. We do not access your other downloads.
  
  

• Storage (chrome.storage.local) — Used to remember your preferences, such as recording quality, format, camera position, and audio source, as well as a list of your past recordings' metadata, such as file name, duration, size, date, and resolution. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. The recordings themselves are not stored in extension storage; once downloaded, the file lives wherever you saved it on your computer.
  
  

• Display/window information (chrome.system.display) — Used only to position small on-screen helper windows, such as the recording status indicator and camera preview, in the correct corner of your screen. No screen content is read through this permission.
  
  

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not operate a backend server.

• The extension makes no network calls to analytics, tracking, or data-collection services.

• We do not record or transmit anything without you explicitly clicking Start Recording.

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or any third party because we never receive it in the first place.

• We do not access the content of tabs or websites you visit outside of what you explicitly choose to share through Chrome's screen-capture picker while recording.

4. Third-Party Links

The extension includes optional buttons to leave a review on the Chrome Web Store or share the extension via Twitter/X, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn.
