Gundu Kiran Kumar (“we”, “our”, “us”) built Screen Recorder as a utility to record the device screen with optional microphone audio and an optional facecam overlay.
1. What the app does
- Records your screen using Android’s MediaProjection API.
- Optionally records microphone audio and/or front camera for a facecam overlay.
- Lets you draw on screen using an overlay brush.
- Shows ads via Google AdMob.
2. What we collect
We do not collect, upload, or store your recordings, audio, or camera video on our servers. All recordings remain on your device until you delete or share them.
The app itself does not collect personal information. However, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may process:
- Advertising ID and device information
- Approximate location inferred from IP
This is used to serve and measure ads. See Google’s policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
3. Permissions and how we use them
- RECORD_AUDIO: capture microphone audio when you enable it.
- CAMERA: show an optional facecam overlay if you enable it.
- SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (draw over apps): show the floating controls, facecam, and brush overlays.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE (including camera/microphone types): keep recording active while you use other apps.
- READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: access your saved videos for playback/sharing (Android version dependent).
We request these only when the related feature is used.
4. Children
Screen Recorder is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
5. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell your data. We do not share your recordings. Ads are provided by Google AdMob which acts as an independent controller for its processing. See Google’s privacy policy above.
6. Data retention
We do not retain your recordings; they stay on your device until you delete them. Advertising data is retained by Google according to their policies.
7. Security
Recordings are stored locally under your device’s storage/security model. Use a device lock and do not share files you consider sensitive.
8. Your choices
- You can disable microphone and camera within the app at any time.
- You can reset or limit the Advertising ID in Android settings.
- You can uninstall the app to remove all app data stored on the device.
