"I do believe that you are mistaken. While true that I never cared for Hamilton, I would never go so far as to ruin his reputation. I believe that Hamilton could accomplish that feat all on his own. Regarding this recent act of libel, surely the guilty party must be harboring a deep resentment of the man, after all these years.

If you want to consider serious suspects, turn your investigation to Wilson Jr. and Burr. Wilson Sr. might have assisted Hamilton and me when we wrote the Federalist papers, but Wilson Jr. hates the Federalists and wrote several attack pieces about Hamilton. And, for goodness' sake, Burr killed the man only two years ago!

The last time I even spoke to Hamilton was perhaps two, maybe three, years ago. He gave me this artistic rendering of the U.S.S. Enterprise with a cryptic note. I am not certain why, but maybe this will aid in your search for the truth."
