COOKING
Within the cabin, there is a Propane Gas Range. The renter must provide and connect their own propane tank. The propane tank is connected to the system using a BBQ-type connector that is located outside and under the southwest corner of the cabin, just before the ramp to the deck. The system connects to the large propane portable tanks, e.g. 25 lbs tank. The same tank is used for both the cooking range and the lighting.
The Propane Gas Range system is cleaned, inspected, and serviced annually by a certified technician.
The Propane Gas Range includes both a four (4) burner stove top and a full-size oven. You will need to light the three (3) pilot lights before using the range. Instructions for lighting the pilot lights are available in the cabin, both attached to the side of the range and in the Cabin User Manual, red binder is located in the upper cupboard beside the side door.
SPECIAL NOTE: The oven unit above the stove top DOES NOT work and the gas supply to it has been completely disconnected, removed and plugged appropriately by the service technician.

WATER - POTABLE and NON-POTABLE
Potable/Drinkable water is available 1.1 km from the camp entrance gate, at the Otter Lake Municipal Building at 15 Palmer Avenue. At the far end (west end) of the building, there is a water tap that the municipality provides for cottagers and the camp to use. The water is available 24 x 7, all year, and you can drive right up to it. Click Here for Directions and Map to the Water Tap.
While most groups get their water from the municipal tap, some groups simply use and purify the lake water.
While the lake water can be boiled and used for cleaning, and it appears very clean, the lake water should not be consumed unless filtered appropriately.
