We are in a Gold Rush for AI. Every top tech company in every developed nation is pouring its investment and talent into improving and using it. Legislation cannot stop it. The toothpaste is out of the tube and cannot be put back. People talk about how GenAI commonly gets the wrong answer, but they don’t talk about how fast it is learning and improving. The speed and quality of AI is at least doubling every year, and will go faster as AI is tasked to improve itself. I believe that, within a decade, AI (including AI-driven robots) will be better at every job than humans.
Since we cannot stop it, the real challenge is: How do we redistribute wealth and provide opportunities for human dignity when all the jobs are gone?
