For me, science is a subject that I just can’t help being passionate about. That passion is something that can be contagious with the kids (and colleagues) I work with.
I have been teaching for over 30 years and recently have left the classroom to become a Facilitator with the House of Science - a role that I love!
In 2012 I won a Primary Teacher Science Fellowship and spent six amazing months at NIWA. While there, I worked alongside scientists and developed resources to use back in the classroom. This time really reignited my passion for science - something that could easily be squashed with the day to day happenings in the classroom
I was awarded a Primary Science Teachers Fellowship Alumni Award in 2014 in recognition of my work in enhancing science education both locally at Hampton Hill School and on a national basis.
Things didnt stop there! I continue to be involved in science locally, regionally, nationally -and also internationally. I was incredibly privileged to be awarded the Prime Ministers Science Teacher prize for 2018,
