Lauren Kokai

Dr. Lauren Kokai received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh, with an emphasis in cell and tissue engineering.  

Since that time, she has worked as a scientist for a leading International Pharmaceutical company, built an academic research lab studying regenerative medicine and tissue engineering at the University of Pittsburgh and now works as a Staff Fellow in the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research at the Food & Drug Administration. 

In all of these positions, Dr. Kokai’s work has involved conducting research experiments to improve health by understanding the origins of disease and by developing new, advanced therapeutics that enhance the body’s ability to heal.
