Giacomo Chiti

Manetti & Roberts - Bolton Group, Italy

Giacomo Chiti was born in Pistoia (Italy) in 1975. After studying chemistry at high school, he gained a MSc in Chemistry at University of Florence in 1999 with an experimental thesis on electrochemical biosensors.

From 2000 to 2015 he worked in pharmaceutical Research & Development at Molteni Farmaceutici, gaining expertise in analytical and formulation development according to cGMPs, clinical trials and registration of New Chemical Entities and sterile New Drug Products. He also dealt with Medical Devices under ISO 13485 and MDR.

From 2015 to 2018 he joined Texsus SpA (now part of the multinational company Shalag) as R&D Manager, developing innovative solutions for liquid handling for hygiene, medical and personal care products (e.g. baby or incontinence diapers, sanitary napkins, wound dressings).

Since 2018 he works as QC Manager at Manetti & Roberts (Bolton Home and Personal Care) in Calenzano, Italy. The company is part of the Italian multinational company Bolton Group and it is active in the development, production and trade of products for personal care, either for mass market and pharmacies. Manetti & Roberts has more than a century of heritage in cosmetics and holds some of the most iconic Italian brands (Borotalco, Acqua Alle Rose, Chilly). In the Calenzano plant the company produces detergents (solid/liquid soap, shower gel, intimate hygiene), deodorants and antiperspirants, talc powders and also medicinal products, such as the Over The Counter “Somatoline Anticellulite”.

Giacomo Chiti is author or co-author of 15 peer reviewed scientific papers and he has been included as inventor in 12 patent applications.
