This catalog offers a wide variety of professional learning opportunities for teachers to broaden and deepen their knowledge in their field.
The Professional Learning Pathways consist of recommended sequences of professional learning sessions specifically designed for physical education and health education teachers. When taken sequentially as part of a Professional Learning Pathway, these sessions build subject area mastery, enhance expertise in delivering instruction, and encourage collaboration among educators to better serve students’ instructional needs. Sessions that are part of the Professional Learning Pathways are titled Basics, and progress from Level 1 to Level 4, except for Secondary Physical Education, which progresses to Level 3.
All Professional Learning Pathways sessions integrate concepts, skills, and resources featured in the applicable New York City K-12 Physical Education or Health Education Scope and Sequence documents, which provide teachers with tools to design lessons that empower students to take care of their minds and bodies and build a foundation of well-being for achieving academic success and leading healthier, happier, more successful lives.
