National Council of Negro Women was founded in 1935 by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, an influential educator and activist. It is a non-profit organization whose mission is to lead, empower and advocate for women of African descent, their families and communities. The Chesterfield Metro Area Section of NCNW (CMAS-NCNW) was chartered in January 2022. We are a 501 (c) (3) organization. Our goals include implementing programs in our communities that service all women and youth, as well as offering scholarships to help youth further their education. CMAS- NCNW continues with the goals of empowerment established by Dr. Bethune.
