SKUNK was one of my favorite games to play in the classroom. As I began working as a content developer, I wanted to create something quick and fun for people to enjoy. SKUNK quickly came to mind. I've always played in a brick and mortar setting but wanted to be able to play with people across multiple platforms and at a quicker pace. When I was first introduced to Articulate Storyline 360, I immediately knew this was possible. I challenged myself to develop something that involved multiple animations, layers, triggers, conditions, and variables to give the user what they wanted. The final product was the project on this page.
To design SKUNK, I took the rules and structure model by W.H. Schaper, and adapted it to meet my needs in Articulate Storyline 360.
I began by creating a my graphic designs in Articulate and Microsoft Suites. After creating a color scheme and design template, I began to develop them in Articulate 360. Once the layouts and slides were completed, I added the layers, triggers, conditions, and variables so that the user could progress through each round.
I also needed to create variables to increment or reset based on conditions in the game. I found this to be difficult to program at first, but quickly was able to reset, hold, and increment new values throughout the programming process.
