Target Audience: New Employees
Problem and Solution
This project was designed and implemented to help employees invest their money. Companies are continuously onboarding and training new personnel. These new employees are often offered a variety of incentives to join the company. However, most companies do not take the time to financially educate their employees before they start investing the money they've earned.
The solution to this problem is, "An Introduction to The Stock Market". This course is designed to teach new employees the value of investing their money. Through this course, learners will be able to visualize and synthesize the risk and reward of investing in the stock market. Concepts covered are; Reading stocks, ticker symbols, stock exchanges, risk vs. reward, subsidiaries and parent companies, private and public stock, and a brief history of stocks themselves. Learners are then assessed on their overall knowledge throughout the course and earn a certificate of completion at the end.
I worked with a SME to better understand the basics of stocks and investing before developing the project. It was clear that Learners need to understand the whole image of the stock market to make financially sound decisions with their money. I then used MindMeister to organize and create an action map plan for the project. Mockup slides of the project were then done and tested through Articulate Storyline 360 to create the best flow and pathway of development. Microsoft Suite was also utilized for character creation, and design. After designing and developing the project, peer feedback was then given and reviewed to create the end product.
After action mapping and designing in Storyline 360 and Microsoft Suite, I began developing the project based on user needs. I decided a main hub slide would be best for user interaction.
When the main slide was completed, I needed to create learning pathways from each tab selected. Each selection was then developed based off previous design mock-ups in my design process.
After developing the course with the correct slides and triggers, I needed to develop variables and conditions to allow a progression pathway for the user. This would make sure users are moving along specific learning course objectives. JavaScript was then utilized to help the user print their certificate of completion.
