Problem and Solution
The region of South West Asia is extremely diverse and unique. If you were to travel to one of these countries, there are a lot of important details you should know before going. What type of government does the country have? What are the major cities? What is my money worth?
All of these problems can quickly be solved through A Guide to South West Asia. Whether you are a tourist traveling for the first time, heading back home to see family, or want to provide someone else with valuable information, then this guide is exactly what you are looking for. It can quickly give you information on the region, and a few fun facts along the way.
I have always had a deep curiosity for the diversity that exists in S.W Asia. This project allowed me to explore into a topic that I am passionate and interested in. The goal of this project was to provide the user with a better understanding of the S.W Asia region. I started by creating an action map of workflow ideas and relevant content to the project. After, I started working on a color scheme and slide design that would be appealing to the user. I then began working with SMEs, gathering information on the region, and developing the content to be focused on inthe project.
The objective of this project was to give the user quick and vital information pertinent to that country. I developed an interactive guide that would lead the user through various countries in the region, and that allowed for user choice in each tab.
After action mapping, gathering data, and meeting with SMEs, I began to develop the project. I had a feeling that the interactivity on the pages might be confusing, so I created a Camtasia intro with voiceover to help users navigate the project.
I also knew that I wanted the user to be greeted by an animation when they began the project. The intro slide is timed to help the user(or traveler) connect to the project.
On each slide a "Did you know", animation is provided for the user. I felt it was important to add diversity to each countries slide. I also wanted to make sure the user knew which countries they previously visited, I created a button group to help show and hide different states.
