Job Development Coordinator, SCC Career Services
"Thank you for applying..." Jobs you didn't get:
In college I applied for a couple of retail jobs (Rue21 and a local movie store) that I never got a call for an interview. I actually made it to the final interview round for the Assistant Student Activities Director for Wofford College, however, I was not selected for the position. In both cases, I'm so thankful it didn't work out. Everything happens for a reason, so trust the process!
Things I swore I'd finish but never did:
Every fad diet or crazy weight loss trick But seriously, I DREAMED of working in broadcast journalism as a reporter and news anchor. My senior year in college, I interned at WYFF News Channel 4 and immediately realized it was a very disheartening industry. After much debate, I decided not to pursue a profession in broadcasting.
Memories I made while I wasn't studying/working:
I was a summer camp staffer for three years while in college and it was seriously one of the best experiences of my life. I made such great friends, who I still connect with and talk to today. I'll always cherish those summers. Family is also very important to me. I'm extremely close with my sisters and brother. Anytime we are together it's a great time.
TV shows, movies, and books I've enjoyed:
I LOVE TV! Here's a few examples of my go-to's: Reality Shows, Crime Documentaries, Grey's Antimony, Criminal Minds, SOA, Schitts Creek, The OC, American Horror Story, Ru Paul's Drag Race, the list goes on....My recent faves include 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, and the Harlan Coben's series on Netflix. I don't really watch a lot of movies, but if I do, it's typically a horror movie or some kind of suspenseful drama. We have been watching a lot of Encanto at home though. I should definitely read more (it's one of my New Year's Resolutions), but I have always enjoyed anything by Jodi Picoult. Recently, I read "Dark Places" by Gillian Flynn and "Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins and couldn't put either of them down.
Things I'm proud of that you won't see on my resumé:
Marrying the love of my life and best friend, Brandon Moose. Being a mom to my sweet boy, Thatcher McCartha. Aside from family, many years ago I ran two half-marathons. Many years ago....
Quirks that make me who I am:
My anxiety makes me empathic to others and their struggles I'm an extravert in the workplace and an introvert socially.
Unconventional Skills:
One of my hobbies is completing jigsaw puzzles. I'm not afraid to say that I'm pretty good at them too.
