Hell 02:18 buy track about i've wanted to do a halloween themed, guitar-based ambient record for a long time now. there have been a couple times that i've started working on the idea but either got distracted with other musical things or just overwhelmed with the thought of actually finishing the project and being happy with it. on the surface it sounds silly to feel stressed out over recording some weird sounds and then stringing them together, but for me it wasn't an easy process. halloween is really special for me. i worked the seasonal shift at party city for years- into my late twenties- surrounded by clueless 16 year old first-jobbers, just to be inundated with the spirit of the holiday. i'd heard lots of "halloween sounds" recordings over the years. it was important to make this recording a conscious and focused effort. in other words, it's not just me hitting record and then farting around on my pedals. there was a lot of thought put into every sound created.

every single sound on the recording came from a guitar- albeit a very processed guitar, but 100% guitar. my dream would be for people to play this on their porch to scare the shit out of trick or treaters, or at haunted houses or parties. anything halloween related. not everyone is into noisy, ambient records, but ALMOST everyone is into halloween! $(".tralbum-about").last().bcTruncate(TruncateProfile.get("tralbum_about"), "more", "less"); credits released October 28, 2013 license all rights reserved tags Tags experimental dead family death effects halloween pedals scary sounds tera melos Los Angeles Shopping cart subtotal USD taxes calculated at checkout Check out about nick reinhart Los Angeles, California

I think its supposed to be scary but sometimes there are these random "scary" sounds (like breath and other unexplainable), that are really annoying. I dont testet but I think these go away when turning ambient off but I still want to hear the wind and so on. It also doesnt go away with music turned off. So I probably have to remove some game files, does somebody know more about it?

The sounds alone are high quality and very well made, i like the sounds... but in the game, in the night... i like to sit there and watch the nature being nature and so ... I like immersion and i like the 7d2d-world and setting... but this breaks everything for me... immersion, horrrfeeling and fun... and when i delete those specific files and save the ressource.asset, my game ... my character was suddenly lvl 1 and all character-progress was deleted, even the landmarks i saved in the map... placed items are all still there ... weird ^^ i don't complain about this, was my fault, but i wish i can somehow disable these specific soundfiles without lost ;D

There are mods change the sounds of vehicles and creatures that I use all the time. Download one of those mods, look at the xmls and see how they do it. Then just make your own after you track down the sound files based upon their pathing. BDub's vehicles, Snukfin's zombies, etc. all reference the sound files.

NOW it is creepy, yes... and as i wrote: for me at least ^^ there are some out there with the same opinion, not much, but some... those few individuals want to turn off the music... ALL music... and when i turn down the slider for ambientsounds, ALL ambient sounds like crickets, babies, wind.. all of them are gone... that is not what i wanted...

The noises don't bother me too much, but I feel like they cue up too frequently at night. There was an update not too far back when it would be about every fifteen or thirty seconds and man that did grate a bit. It doesn't seem to be that bad anymore. What got me was the small pool of sounds there were so the repetition is what made it really stick out.

There are interesting possibilities with the sounds themselves. I recall a game, I think Balder's Gate, when the soundtrack included the sound of a trap being sprung. Every 40 minutes, or so, hearing the trap noise could make you stop and look around.

Update: I also recall a Halloween change for Minecraft where they changed game sounds. One of the "there's an unlit cave near" sounds was changed to something like somebody yelling for help. At first that had folks searching around for the victim.

Nala is a very fearful dog. She is so stressed at the sounds she hears outside that she only ventures to potty before rushingback inside away fromt he scary sounds. Since West LA is so busy, I invited her parents to bring her by my place the day before the session to meet in a quiet outdoor environment where she could take her time and do some sniffing. I was hoping that by meeting her outside in a quiet backyard we could make faster progress in the session. It took some time and a lot of really high value treats, but eventually I was able to create a situation where she was comfortable enough to approach me and take treats from my hand. Small steps and successes are the name of the game when helping a fearful dog.

The next day, I waited outside of her apartment so her guardians could bring her out to meet me. I left a trail of treats and was sitting on the steps with my back to the doorway she came from. Sitting down, avoiding eye contact and positioning yourself so the dog approaches from slightly behind or your side are all tips that can help fearful dogs feel more comfortable.

The guardian should start a stopwatch as soon as the first knock or doorbell ring occurs. Then they should note how long it takes for Nala to stop barking on her own. How long it takes for her to sit down on her own and finally how long it takes before she lies down on her own.

I usually like to re-create the test scenario two or three different times at different times of the day to get an average number for each one of those categories. Then 4 to 6 weeks later, the guardians can re-create those scenarios and see if Nala is stopping her a barking or sitting or laying down faster. If that is the case, that is a good indication that the medication is working. If there is very little change, then that can be an indication that the medication needs to have its dosage changed so they can contact thier vet.

After we wrapped up the discussion on medication, I ran through a number of dog behavior fundamentals with the guardians such as how to read cut off signals and dog body language and the importance of celebrating desired behaviors to help the dog feel more confident. I also talked about some enrichment games and ways to exercise Nala inside the home.

When a dog is fearful of sounds they hear we refer to this as the dog being sound sensitive. While some people find it amusing when dogs are fearful of sounds that we find benign, to the dog the fear and anxiety is very real and nothing to be laughed at.

As a Dog Behaviorist, I have found that one of the most effective ways to help dogs who are scared of sounds is a process called counter conditioning. Counter conditioning is a great way to help dogs stop fearing sounds outside of their home.

I handed my camera to her guardians and asked them to film me as I walked through an easy way to help a dog get over a fear of sounds they hear outside. If you have a dog scared of sounds outside your home, you should definitely check out the free positive dog training video below.

By re-creating the sound in a low level intensity that Nala is able to hear without reacting, then followed up by giving her a treat, we can start changing her perception of the sound from a negative to a positive. The treat needs to be delivered right after the sound occurs, no later than 2 seconds post sound.

As you practice, you can gradually raise the level of intensity until you are eventually re-creating it in the same volume as it naturally occurs. If you do it right, the dog stops barking because they find that sound is now linked to a positive.

I recommended the guardians make a list of all of the sounds that Nala is fearful of and then work on them one at a time. Some of these sounds they can record audio of on their phone and then play them back in the home where Nala feels more comfortable.

Hi, I would want to know if there are some music and sounds that can be used in a horror/mystery story. I mean music and sounds that create tension and suspense and/or that are scary.

Thank you in advance!

The trick with masking is that if a dog is scared by very low frequency rumbles, they will likely be scared of some similar sounds that one can play through speakers. But I did find some sounds that included some lower frequencies that my dog thought were just fine, and that did successfully mask many of her outdoor noise triggers. With a little desensitization of the generated sounds, I could use even more of them.

Thanks for these tips, as well. Sound absorbing foam has to be comparable in size to the sound waves, and low frequency ones are BIG (several feet in amplitude). So the foam would have to take up your house! Thinner might help with those whistles, though! I love reading about all the clever things you do for your dogs.

What a great way to help scared animals! Thanks for sharing. I saw this blog because Todd Moore from TMSOFT posted it on his facebook. If you have a specific sound you think would help animals, you could easily reach out to him through facebook. I am betting he would be very receptive to adding it. 152ee80cbc
