Welcome!

Scantic Valley CSA is a collaboration of small farms in Hampden County, MA. Fitting with the unique patchwork of the area, our farms are small and tucked into neighborhoods, close to lots of homes and to our city center, Springfield. This is our home, and it shapes our mission: to preserve Hampden County's vibrant farming heritage and grow the healthiest food possible for our community.

WHAT IS A CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and represents a unique commitment between a farm and its supporters. By purchasing a share of the harvest up front, you provide critical financial stability to neighborhood farms, and agree to share with your farmers in both the risks and abundance that farming can bring. In return you receive the freshest, highest-quality produce available and the assurance of truly knowing how your food is grown and the folks growing it.

HOW IT WORKS:

As a CSA member, you will receive a wide variety of fresh produce each week of the harvest season, June-November. On your selected pickup day, you come to the Pomeroy’s Vegetable Farm's farm stand at to get your share. The shares will vary week to week according to the seasons. The farm will grow a wide variety of produce throughout the 20 week CSA season.

COST:

Whole Share (Feeds 2-5)

$620

Half Share (Feeds 1-2)

$340

Work Share (Half or Whole)

2-4 hrs/wk

WHOLE OR HALF SHARE?

When trying to choose the right share size it can be helpful to ask yourself a few questions. Would you like enough to be able to preserve or freeze some extra? Do you cook with vegetables often? Like to make soups? A yes to these questions means a whole share might be right for you. It is also good to know that a half share averages $15 of produce per week and a whole share closer to $30 per week.
