1. No Account Required

ScanPDF does not require users to create an account or provide personal information such as name, email, or phone number to use its core features.

2. Information We Collect

a) Files and Media We access files stored on your device (PDF, Word, Images) only to provide features such as merging, compressing, editing, and converting documents.

b) Camera Data We use your device camera for document scanning, including ID cards and AI-based PDF scanning. Images are processed only to generate PDFs or perform text recognition.

c) Usage Data We collect non-personal information such as device type, operating system, and app usage via Firebase Analytics and Google ML Kit to improve performance.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted services to provide app functionality:

• Google Play Services

• Firebase Analytics (App Performance)

• Google ML Kit (On-device AI, OCR, and Translation)

4. Data Processing & Security (AI & ML)

Local On-Device Processing: Most features, including document merging, splitting, watermarking, and signature, are processed locally on your device.

AI, OCR & Translation: We use Google ML Kit for document scanning, text recognition (OCR), and translation. These processes occur entirely on your device. Your scanned documents, images, and translated text are not sent to our servers or Google’s cloud servers for processing.

Model Downloads: The app may use your internet connection to download necessary AI language models for offline translation or improved OCR accuracy.

5. Data Retention

We do not store your personal files or scanned data on our servers. Any temporary data used during the processing of a file is deleted immediately after the task is completed.

6. Permissions

ScanPDF may request the following permissions:

• Camera: For document scanning and AI text recognition.

• Storage/Media: To access, edit, and save files on your device.

• Internet: downloading AI/translation models.

• Notifications: To provide process updates and alerts.

7. User Rights

You have the right to access or delete your data. Since we do not store personal data on our servers, most of your data remains solely on your device.

8. Children’s Privacy

ScanPDF does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
