This Privacy Policy explains how the Scanoryx mobile application (“Scanoryx,” the “Application,” or the “App”) handles information.
Scanoryx is developed and operated by Muhammad Awais Khan, referred to in this Privacy Policy as the “Service Provider,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”
Scanoryx is a privacy-focused document scanning application that allows users to scan documents, recognize text, read barcodes, identify languages, translate text, organize documents, and create or export PDF files.
The App does not require users to create an account.
In the current version of Scanoryx:
Scanned documents, imported images, recognized text, extracted document details, and generated PDF files are processed and stored locally on the user’s device.
The Service Provider does not receive, upload, or store copies of the user’s scanned documents or recognized text on its own servers.
The App does not contain advertising.
The App does not use advertising identifiers for advertising purposes.
The App does not sell personal information.
The App does not use personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
The App does not include user accounts, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
Google ML Kit may collect limited technical, diagnostic, and usage information as explained below.
The Service Provider may receive information that a user voluntarily provides when contacting us by email.
Scanoryx may process the following information locally when you use its features:
Photos captured using your device’s camera
Images selected or imported by you
Scanned document content
Recognized text
Barcode and QR code information
Identified languages
Translated text
Receipt, invoice, or business-card information recognized from documents
Document titles, file names, page order, filters, and scanning preferences
Generated PDF files
This information is used only to provide the features requested by the user.
The Service Provider does not operate a server that receives or stores this document content. Your documents remain under your control on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
Depending on the feature you use, Scanoryx may request permission to:
Access the camera to scan documents or barcodes
Access photos or files selected by you
Save or export PDF files and other document-related content
These permissions are used only to provide the relevant App functionality. You can manage permissions at any time through your Android device settings.
Denying a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but other features may remain available.
Scanoryx uses on-device machine-learning features provided by Google ML Kit, including:
Text recognition
Barcode and QR code scanning
Language identification
On-device translation
According to Google, ML Kit processes feature input data—such as images, text, and resulting outputs—on the user’s device and does not send that input data or resulting output to Google’s servers.
ML Kit may occasionally contact Google’s servers to obtain updated machine-learning models, bug fixes, remote configuration information, or hardware-accelerator compatibility information.
Google ML Kit may also collect limited technical information for diagnostics, security, performance measurement, usage analytics, maintenance, and improvement of its APIs. Depending on the ML Kit components used, this information may include:
Device manufacturer, model, operating-system version, and build
Available machine-learning hardware accelerators
App package name and App version
Device or per-installation identifiers
API performance information, such as latency
API configuration, such as image format and resolution
Input and output sizes
Feature and model versions
Feature events, such as initialization, detection, model download, and resource release
Error codes
Identified languages
Configured source and destination translation languages
Barcode scanning session or auto-zoom information where that feature is enabled
Google states that ML Kit encrypts this information in transit using HTTPS.
More information is available in:
The App does not require account registration and does not ask users to submit a name, phone number, address, or payment information.
If you voluntarily contact the Service Provider by email, we may receive:
Your name
Your email address
The contents of your message
Any files or screenshots you choose to attach
This information will be used to respond to your inquiry, provide support, investigate a reported problem, protect the App or its users, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use support communications for advertising or unrelated marketing without permission.
Scanoryx may allow you to export or share documents, images, recognized text, or PDF files using Android’s sharing features.
Sharing occurs only when you initiate it. Once you share content with another application, cloud-storage provider, messaging service, email provider, or person, the recipient’s privacy practices and terms will apply.
Please review the privacy policies of any third-party services with which you choose to share your content.
The current version of Scanoryx:
Does not display third-party advertisements
Does not use Google AdMob
Does not use personal information for targeted advertising
Does not sell personal information
Does not use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies for advertising
Does not send marketing communications through the App
If these practices change in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the App’s Google Play Data Safety disclosures will be updated accordingly.
Scanned documents, recognized text, settings, and App-generated files stored inside Scanoryx remain on your device until you delete them through the App, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App.
Files exported or shared outside Scanoryx may remain:
In your device’s public storage
In backups
In cloud-storage services
In another application
With people or services to whom you sent them
Deleting or uninstalling Scanoryx may not remove files that were previously exported or shared. You must delete those copies from their respective locations.
The Service Provider does not retain copies of locally processed documents on its own servers.
Google controls the retention of technical information collected through ML Kit and related Google services according to Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies.
Email communications sent to the Service Provider may be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
Scanoryx is designed to process document content locally, which reduces the need to transmit sensitive documents over the internet.
However, no device, software, storage system, or method of electronic processing is completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their devices with appropriate security measures, such as a screen lock, device encryption, secure backups, and updated system software.
Users should avoid sharing sensitive documents with unknown or untrusted applications and recipients.
Limited technical information collected by Google ML Kit or related Google services may be processed in countries where Google or its service providers operate.
Google’s handling of this information is governed by its applicable privacy policy, terms, and data-protection commitments.
Scanoryx is not specifically designed or directed toward children under the age of 13.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through accounts or online forms in the App. If you believe that a child has sent personal information directly to the Service Provider by email, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of document-scanning and sharing features.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights concerning personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection to certain processing.
Because Scanoryx document content is stored locally and is not accessible to the Service Provider, you can normally manage or delete that content directly from your device.
For personal information voluntarily sent to the Service Provider by email, you may submit a privacy request using the contact details below. We may need to verify the request before responding.
The Service Provider does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
The Service Provider may disclose information received directly from a user if disclosure is reasonably necessary to:
Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
Protect the rights, safety, or property of the Service Provider, users, or others
Investigate fraud, abuse, security threats, or violations of applicable terms
This section does not give the Service Provider access to documents that remain stored only on the user’s device.
The App may contain links that open websites or services outside Scanoryx, including this Privacy Policy.
The Service Provider is not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of external websites or services. Users should review the privacy policy of each external service they visit.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App’s features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data-handling practices change.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through the App or Google Play listing where reasonably required.
