Privacy Policy for ScanOrbit

ScanOrbit is a document scanner and PDF tools app made by Chikoo Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, and what it does not.
The short version
- Your scans, photos and documents stay on your phone. We do not upload them, and we cannot see them.
- You do not need an account to use ScanOrbit.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect some device information to show and measure those ads.
1. Your files stay on your device
Everything you scan, import, edit, sign, convert or save in ScanOrbit is processed and stored on your own phone. This includes text recognition (OCR), PDF tools, passport and form photos, QR codes and conversions. We do not have a server that receives your files, and we do not have access to them.
Files leave your phone only when you choose to share them, for example by sending a file through another app, printing it, or saving a backup file to a place you pick.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or the contents of your documents. ScanOrbit has no sign-up and no login.
3. Permissions the app asks for
- Camera: to scan documents, take passport or form photos, and read QR codes and barcodes.
- Photos and files: to let you pick images or documents that you choose to import, and to save results.
- Notifications: only if you set an expiry reminder for a document.
- Fingerprint, face or screen lock: only if you turn on App lock. The check is done by your phone. ScanOrbit never receives your fingerprint, face data or PIN.
You can refuse any permission. The related feature will not work, but the rest of the app will.
4. Advertising
ScanOrbit shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, general location derived from the IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn off ad personalisation, in your phone's settings under Google > Ads.

5. Text recognition and document scanning
Text recognition and document scanning use Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. Your images are not sent to Google for these features. ML Kit may send Google limited technical information, such as performance and usage measurements, to keep the service working. See: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
6. Purchases
If you buy ScanOrbit Pro, the payment is handled by Google Play. We do not receive or store your card or bank details. We only learn whether a subscription is active on your device.
7. Feedback and support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to reply to you and improve the app.
8. Keeping and deleting your data
Because your files are stored only on your phone, you control them. You can delete any file in the app, empty the Trash, or use Settings > Delete all my files. Uninstalling ScanOrbit removes the app's stored files and settings from your phone. Files you saved or shared outside the app are not affected.
9. Children
ScanOrbit is a general tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's update notes.
