This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use PDF Scanner (“the App”).
About PDF Scanner
PDF Scanner allows users to capture paper documents with their device camera, select existing images, create PDF documents, save files locally, and share completed documents.
Document scanning and PDF creation are performed on your device. We do not provide cloud document storage and do not upload your scans or PDF contents to our servers.
Information Accessed by the App
Depending on the features you use, PDF Scanner may locally access or process:
- Images captured with the device camera;
- Photos and images selected by you;
- PDF documents created by the App;
- File names and storage locations;
- File size, page count, creation date, and other document metadata;
- Cropping, rotation, page order, and document-quality settings;
- App preferences and locally stored history.
This information is used only to perform the scanning, editing, PDF creation, storage, and sharing operations requested by you.
Camera Access
PDF Scanner requests camera permission when you choose to scan a document.
Camera access is used to capture document pages. The App does not activate the camera in the background and does not record audio.
Captured images are processed locally and are not sent to our servers or advertisers.
You can revoke camera permission through Android settings. The scanning feature will not work without this permission.
Photos and Images
You may select existing images from your device to create a PDF.
Where supported, PDF Scanner uses the Android photo picker so that you can choose specific images without giving the App access to your entire photo library.
Selected images are used only to create the PDF requested by you. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Document Storage
Created PDF documents are stored locally on your device in a location selected by you or configured by the App.
Documents remain on your device until you delete them. Uninstalling PDF Scanner may not remove documents saved to Downloads, Documents, shared storage, an SD card, or another public folder.
You are responsible for protecting and backing up important documents.
Notifications
PDF Scanner may request notification permission to display:
- PDF creation progress;
- Completed or failed document operations;
- File-saving status;
- Relevant App reminders or notices.
You can disable eligible notifications through Android settings.
Sharing Documents
A document is shared only after you select it and initiate the sharing action.
When you share a PDF with another app, service, platform, or person, the recipient’s privacy practices apply. We do not control how another party handles files you choose to share.
Google AdMob
PDF Scanner uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or process:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- Android Advertising ID;
- App Set ID and other device identifiers;
- App name and version;
- Device manufacturer and model;
- Operating-system version and device language;
- App launches, taps, and other product interactions;
- Advertisement impressions, views, and clicks;
- Diagnostic and performance information;
- Information used to prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid advertising traffic.
Google may use this information to deliver advertisements, measure advertising performance, maintain its services, prevent fraud, and personalize advertisements where permitted.
We do not provide your scans, selected photos, PDF contents, file names, or document metadata to Google AdMob.

Advertising Choices
Depending on your location, eligibility, device settings, Google account settings, and consent choices, AdMob may display personalized, non-personalized, or limited advertisements.
You may manage eligible advertising choices by:
- Opening privacy options available inside PDF Scanner;
- Visiting https://adssettings.google.com/;
- Resetting or deleting the Advertising ID in Android settings;
- Changing advertising preferences in your Google account.
Disabling personalized advertising does not remove all advertisements.
Where required, users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be shown a consent or privacy-choice message. Eligible users may accept, reject, or later withdraw consent for personalized advertising.
Information Not Sent to Us
We do not receive or remotely store:
- Scanned document images;
- Photos selected for PDF creation;
- PDF contents;
- File names;
- Local document history;
- Contacts;
- Precise location;
- Messages or call records.
Advertising-related device information may still be processed by Google AdMob as described above.
Selling Personal Information
We do not sell or rent your scanned documents, photos, PDF files, or document contents.
Advertising-related information may be processed and shared by Google according to Google’s policies and your applicable privacy choices.
Data Retention
Scans, images, and PDF documents stored locally remain on your device until you delete them.
App settings, history, temporary images, cached files, and preferences may remain locally until you:
- Remove them through an available App option;
- Clear PDF Scanner’s storage through Android settings;
- Uninstall the App.
Documents saved outside the App’s private storage may remain after uninstallation.
Advertising information is retained by Google according to Google’s retention policies.
If you contact us, we may retain your email address, message, and voluntarily provided information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
Do not send confidential documents in support messages unless necessary.
Data Deletion
PDF Scanner does not require an account and does not maintain an online profile associated with your documents.
You can delete local information by:
- Deleting scans or PDFs through the App;
- Deleting files with your device’s file manager;
- Clearing the App’s storage through Android settings;
- Uninstalling PDF Scanner;
- Resetting or deleting your Android Advertising ID.
To request deletion of information voluntarily submitted through a support message, contact us at [Privacy Email Address].
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled through the App.
Local processing reduces unnecessary transmission of document contents. Google states that information transmitted through the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security.
No device, application, or storage method is completely secure. You should protect access to your device and maintain backups of important documents.
Children’s Privacy
PDF Scanner is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
If you believe that a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us so that we can review and delete it where required.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion;
- Restrict or object to processing;
- Withdraw consent;
- Request data portability;
- Opt out of eligible personalized advertising or data sharing;
- Submit a complaint to a data-protection authority.
Most document information is stored locally and can be managed directly on your device.
Requests concerning information controlled by us may be submitted to [Privacy Email Address]. Information controlled by Google must be managed through Google’s privacy tools or by contacting Google.
International Processing
Google AdMob operates internationally. Advertising-related information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence.
Google is responsible for the safeguards it applies to information processed through its services.
Support communications may be processed in the country or region where support is provided.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when PDF Scanner’s features, permissions, third-party services, data practices, or legal obligations change.
The latest version will be published at this location with a revised effective date. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required.
