ScanGo ("we", "our", or "the app") is a document scanning application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Account Information: If you sign up using email and password (via Firebase Authentication), we collect your email address to create and manage your account. You may also use the app as a guest without creating an account.
Camera and Photos: ScanGo uses your device's camera to scan documents. Scanned images and the PDF documents you create are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your scanned documents to our servers.
Device Storage: The app saves documents, folders, favourites, and settings locally on your device using local storage.
Advertising Data: ScanGo displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and usage data to show relevant ads. Please review Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) for details on how Google handles this data.
Purchase Information: If you subscribe to ScanGo Premium, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.
On-device Processing: Text recognition (OCR) and barcode scanning are performed using Google ML Kit, which processes data on your device and does not send your images to external servers for this purpose.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the core scanning, editing, and document management features of the app
- To authenticate your account (if you choose to sign in)
- To display relevant advertisements
- To process premium subscription payments through Google Play Billing
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with:
- Google Firebase (for authentication)
- Google AdMob (for displaying ads)
- Google Play Billing (for processing subscription payments)
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your scanned documents at any time from within the app. You can delete your account and associated data from the Profile screen, which removes your Firebase authentication record.
Children's Privacy
ScanGo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Choices
- You can use ScanGo as a guest without providing an email address
- You can delete individual documents or your entire account at any time
- You can manage ad personalisation through your device's ad settings

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
