This policy explains how ScanForge handles information when you use the app to scan, enhance, and recognize text from documents and QR codes.
We (the developer) do not collect or store any personal data.
There is no account, no analytics SDK, and no in-app telemetry added by us.
Scanned images and recognized text stay on your device unless you choose to share or back them up using other apps/services.
Camera & Photos: Images you capture or import are processed locally on your device to deskew, filter, and run OCR.
OCR & Barcode scanning: The app uses Google ML Kit (on-device) via Google Play services. Models may be downloaded to your device for offline use. The content you scan is not sent to our servers.
Google Play services & ML Kit may collect limited diagnostic/usage information (e.g., download of ML models) as described by Google:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
If you open a QR link, your web browser/Custom Tabs will handle that URL under its own privacy policy.
Camera: capture document photos.
Photos/Media/Files (storage): import/export scans (Android version dependent).
Internet: download on-device ML models and open links you tap. We do not operate any backend server.
We do not share your data with any third parties.
All scans and text remain on your device under your control until you delete them.
The app is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we’ll assist.
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Effective date” above and publish changes at the same URL.
