1. Introduction Welcome to Product Scanner ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS mobile application.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
Camera Access: Our app requires access to your device's camera strictly for scanning barcodes. We do not record, store, or transmit any photos or video feeds to our servers. The scanning process happens directly on your device.
Local Storage (Scan History): When you scan a product, the result is saved locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework to provide you with a "History" feature. We do not have access to this data, and it is not uploaded to any external server. You can delete this history at any time within the app.
Search Queries: When a barcode is scanned, the barcode number is sent to open-source databases (such as Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, and Open Pet Food Facts) to retrieve product information. No personally identifiable information is attached to these queries.
3. Third-Party Services and Advertising We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:
Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA) and cookies to serve personalized ads based on your interests. You can manage your ad tracking preferences through your iOS Settings (App Tracking Transparency).

4. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) In compliance with Apple's guidelines, we will ask for your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for targeted advertising purposes. If you select "Ask App Not to Track," we will not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), and you will receive non-personalized ads.
5. Data Security Since we do not collect or store your personal data on external servers, your data remains as secure as your device.
