Privacy Policy — Scale Shock

Mazellan Games (“we”, “us”) operates the mobile application Scale Shock (the “App”).
1. Summary
Scale Shock is a size-comparison quiz. We collect only what is needed for gameplay and an optional public leaderboard. We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising identifiers for tracking. We do not show third-party ads in the App.
2. Data we collect
a) Anonymous account ID
When you open the App, we create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication. This ID is a random identifier. It is not your real name, email, or phone number.
b) Optional display name
If you enter a display name in Settings, we store it on your device and may send it with your score so it can appear on the leaderboard.
c) Game scores
After a run with a score greater than zero, we may upload your score, game mode, category, and a timestamp to our database (Cloud Firestore), linked to your anonymous ID, for the public leaderboard.
d) Local settings
Language preference, display name, and personal best streak are stored on your device (local storage).
e) Technical data processed by infrastructure
Our service providers (Google Firebase) may process standard technical information such as IP address and device/app identifiers as part of operating Authentication and Firestore. We do not use Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics in the App.
3. How we use data
• Provide App functionality (play, save progress locally, leaderboard)
• Attribute and display leaderboard scores
• Maintain security and prevent abuse of the leaderboard
4. Sharing
We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) as our backend. Leaderboard scores and display names are publicly readable inside the App. We do not sell your data. We do not share data with advertising networks.
5. Retention
Leaderboard entries remain until we delete them or you request deletion of your leaderboard data. Local settings remain until you clear app data or uninstall.
6. Children
The App is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising. We do not present personalized ads.
7. Your choices
• You can play without entering a display name.
• You can change or clear your display name in Settings.
• You can request deletion of your leaderboard entry by emailing SUPPORT_EMAIL and including your player label (if any) and approximate play dates. Because accounts are anonymous, we may need details you provide to locate the record.
8. International transfers
Firebase may process data on servers outside your country. By using the App, you understand this processing may occur.
9. Security
We use industry-standard provider security (Firebase Auth rules and Firestore security rules). No method of transmission is 100% secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
