Biography of Ms. Cin

In Italy and Switzerland, Ms. Cin appeared as a soloist in concert with the orchestra at several prestigious historical sites. With scholarship, she participated in the Summer Session for Music and Art (SSMA). In the medieval city of Siena, She studied opera, baroque music performance, Italian language and Italian culture.

Under a full sponsorship from the Japanese government, Ms. Cin was selected as the representative of Hong Kong in Asian Youth Choir, held in Niigata, Japan. Furthermore, she performed as a soloist with the HKBU Girls’ Choir in a series of concerts held at various universities and local performance venues in Texas.

Ms. Cin completed a performance tour in South Korea with Southwestern Chamber Chorale (SWCC) under a full sponsorship from Far East Broadcasting Company, South Korea. With SWCC, she also appeared as a soloist in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area in the US.

Ms. Cin taught singing, choral singing, and church music in Hong Kong and surrounding area. She was an exchange lecturer at Macau Polytechnic Institute, where she taught vocal pedagogy and literature, individual voice, and provided graduation thesis supervision. Her students’ research topics included vocal pedagogy, music education, and Hong Kong Canton-Pop studies.

In Hong Kong, Ms. Cin coached the choirs of EFCC Yan Fook Church. Ms. Cin actively collaborated with orchestras and choirs in Hong Kong. Ms. Cin was the soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with HKBU’s Collegium Musicum HK and University Choir. Ms. Cin’s solo performance repertoires include Schubert’s Mass in G , Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Cantata, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Benedictus and Fantasia on Christmas Carols. She was also a collaborative artist in Hong Kong New Music Ensemble.  

To promote music education, Ms. Cin taught singing, piano, and choral singing in Hong Kong International Christian Quality Music School. She further pursued her music education vision in the primary and secondary school settings. The choirs she conducted were awarded multiple championships and awards from the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Festival and other major competitions.

Ms. Cin aspires to create a platform that every student with various ability could shine. She developed and conducted the School Choir, the Brass band, the Strings Ensemble in a boys’ school, where she was the Panel head of Music. She was invited by the Hong Kong Education Bureau to share her experience in music curriculum design and teaching. She also collaborated with professional artists and organizations, such as HK Arts Festival, HK Philharmonic Orchestra, HK Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong New Arts Power, for educational program and workshops for her school students.

Ms. Cin continues her teaching in primary and secondary schools across Nottinghamshire. Her students enjoy music in her lessons and classes, and persist in attaining flying colors in music exams.
